Adopting through Fresh Start Rescue is a simple, supportive process designed to help you find the perfect match.
1. Submit an Adoption Application
Start by filling out our adoption application. This helps us learn about your home, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a dog.
2. Application Review & Reference Checks
Our team reviews your application and contacts your references. We may reach out with follow‑up questions to make sure we understand what you need.
3. Meet‑and‑Greet
If your application is a good fit, we’ll schedule a meet‑and‑greet with the dog and their foster family. This helps you see the dog’s personality in a real‑life setting.
4. Home Visit
A quick home visit ensures the environment is safe and appropriate for the dog. This can be virtual or in‑person depending on the situation.
5. Approval & Adoption Fee
Once approved, you’ll pay the adoption fee (posted on our site once animals are available). This fee helps cover veterinary care and rescue costs.
6. Adoption Day!
You’ll sign the adoption agreement, receive the dog’s medical records, and take your new family member home. We’re always here for support after adoption.
7. Post‑Adoption Support
We stay in touch to help with decompression, training, and any questions that come up. We want every adoption to be a lifelong success.
