You’ll love them, then you’ll love seeing them go home.  You are the one giving them wings and teaching them how to be themselves.  Most fosters say the joy of saving a life outweighs the sadness of goodbye.

I'll get too attached.

We match pets to your lifestyle.  Some need active homes; others just want a couch buddy.

I don't have enough time.

We coordinate all vet care, appointments, and decisions.  You’re never left guessing or alone.  The costs of all medical care are covered by Fresh Start Rescue.

I'll have to handle medical issues.

Most fosters live in apartments or townhomes.  Pets need safety, structure and love, not square footage or perfection.  

I need a big house or yard.

Many fosters have resident pets.  With slow introductions and support, it often works beautifully.  And oftentimes those resident pets teach the fosters how to be a pet. 

I can't because I have pets at home.

We handle all adoption marketing, screening, and placement.  Your job is to love them temporarily until that forever family is found.  We take care of the rest.

I'll get stuck with it if no one adopts it.

Most fosters say it adds joy, routine, and purpose to their daily life.

Fostering will disrupt my life.

Each animal is different in its needs.  Some a few weeks, some a few months.  We work with you and the animal and adjust as needed.

Fostering is a long-term commitment.

The basics (e.g. potty routines, crate comfort, house manners, leash walking, calm behavior, etc.) are more than enough.  We provide all the guidance any caring adult needs to succeed.

I'll have to train it & I don't know how.

Fresh Start covers all vet care, supplies and essentials.  Your job is love and daily care. 

Fostering is expensive.

Most fosters work full-time.  Most animals are used to normal workday routines.  And this helps prepare animals for adoption with families.

I work full time.

You won’t.  We guide you through every step, and animals are incredibly resilient.  Progress, not perfection, is what changes their lives.
